This page explains what information MedicMind collects when you use the site, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email emsmedicmind@gmail.com and ask.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and the certification level you're studying for (EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic). If you sign up as an instructor, we also collect the agency or program name you provide.
As you use MedicMind, we store your study activity — scenario and Quick Recall attempts, mock exam results, streaks, badges earned, and the preferences you set (theme, time format, target test date). If you submit a bug report or contact form message, we collect what you write and the email you provide so we can respond.
We don't collect payment information — MedicMind doesn't currently charge for access.
Your information is used to run the product: keeping you signed in, tracking and displaying your own progress, powering spaced-repetition scheduling, generating mock exams at your certification level, and — if you're enrolled in a classroom — letting your instructor see your progress within that classroom. We use your email to send account-related messages (email confirmation, password reset, instructor approval status) and to respond if you contact us. We don't send marketing email and don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
MedicMind is built on Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and hosted on Vercel. Transactional emails (confirmations, password resets, bug report notifications) are sent through Resend. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments — we don't share your data with anyone beyond what's needed to run the service through them. Your session is kept in your browser's local storage, not a tracking cookie.
You can view and correct your name, certification level, and preferences any time from Settings. You can permanently delete your account and its data from Settings as well — this removes your profile and progress; it doesn't remove content you contributed to a shared context that other people depend on (for example, if you're an instructor, your classroom's roster history isn't deleted out from under enrolled students without separate arrangement — email us if that situation applies to you).
MedicMind is built for people old enough to be pursuing EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification, and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll remove it.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information — encrypted connections, access controls that isolate each account's and each classroom's data from others, and restricted admin access. No method of storing or transmitting data is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use MedicMind after a change means you accept the update.
